Start Your ApplicationNelma Juarece Weatherly believed in the power of education to change lives. Through her generous endowment gift to First Baptist Church of Gainesville, she established the Weatherly Scholarship in 2018 to help local students overcome financial barriers to higher education.
For nearly three decades, Juarece served the Cooke County community at First State Bank in Gainesville. She understood that talented young people often struggle to afford college, and she wanted to make a difference.
Today, the Weatherly Scholarship continues her commitment to helping students reach their full potential.
